What are the ethics of taking advantage of "free" days and making low ball contributions in the above kind of situation?*******************I don't really have a problem with it, although I usually will toss in a few bucks if we are talking about a "suggested donation". Case in point: the Metropolitan Museum of Art is IMO a national treasure. They do the "suggested donation" bit, with the indicated amount rising quite considerably faster than inflation. I have, at times in my life, been a frequent visitor. Rarely do I toss them more than half the suggested amount. Why? It is taxpayer supported, by both the feds as well as the city and state of NY. Since I have ponied up three ways at a taxpayer, I always felt that anything I give them when I show up is extremely generous of me.
