What are the recommendations on the board, both what I should do with the current account (keep it, close it, use it as a backup), as well as recommendations of NEW credit cards (rewards, fixed rate, low rate, etc.).

I've been very happy with the Citi Dividend Card. Since it's paid off monthly I'm not concerned about the rates, and it gives a cash reward, which is better than points, at least in my case. Other people prefer the Points.

If you decide to open a new card, I'd keep the CapOne as a back-up. It's always nice to have a card in reserve.

For a comparison of various cards, there's Bankrate.com

and Cardweb.com

Hope this helps.
