What are the regulations for and how do I figure a deduction of a computer that was purchased for use for a not-for-profit group. As the only board member and officer without a computer, communication and organization were difficult. It is in the home, but without the needs of the group, I doubt I would have purchased one at this time. Is there a deduction for this expense? I don't believe you have any deductible expense here. It sounds like you have not donated the computer to the non-profit, but instead you are using it personally, as a volunteer for the organization.--Peter
