When I used to inhabit the chat channels on IRC, it truly amazed me how many people were there no matter when you logged on. Have insomnia and decide to see what's happening in the middle of the night? They're there. Lunchtime, early morning, after dinner.Still, I thought those people the exception rather than the norm (not of IRC users but of the general adult population). Given the fact that so many folks log on basically to get e-mail or to find specific information, then they're gone, while others never even get on the bloody thing, the 5% figure means there are a lot more "addicts" that will be skewing the average upwards than I had expected.
