what investment income is exactly in terms of qualifying for Earned Income Credit?

It is not Earned Income which is wages, salaries, tips and other employee compensation. Your investment income increases your Adjusted Gross Income which is part of the formula for calculating how much EIC you are entitled to receive. I am sure you can find an extensive answer to your question under the FAQ section of this board.
