Is there some correlation between the (1) lateral time/distance between the "peaks" and (2) the heighth of the vertical descent (fall?) and reascent the bear and his subsequent traveler, the bull, must travail? I see that there are various widths of troughs, but if the pinnacles are a Yahoo like p/e of 350 and the bottom is a p/e of six (yes, I remain somewhat fixated on the concept that my investment should "earn" eight per cent in one year, not "earn" 8% in 43 years) I remain either confused or troubled.
