What the article doesn't talk about is how many hours/wk the salaried managers work. When I managed a retail store, the "slow" season I only worked a 6 day 60 hour week. November, December and January, I worked a 7 day 80 hour week. If a WalMart manager works 80hr/wk year 'round, his $130K/yr would work out to an hourly rate of $25.00, or the same as an hourly full time worker grossing $52K/yr from a 40 hr week. Not much compensation for being responsible for a business with several million/yr in revenue.Steve
