What would a US recession do to share prices?

it would create a buying opportunity....

in other words, the price of the stock would go down...that becomes a buying opportunity, if you believe that the long term viability of the stock is there for the patient investor...this is not a stock IMHO to be judged by what it does this month, or this quarter, but where will it be in 3yrs, or 5?

US earnings are a large part of HMC, but not the whole story...there is large growth of market in countries with aspirations of joining the world markets...India, China, Indonesia, etc.

(i had confirmation of this just today, employer, Chinese by birth, American for 40+ years, relayed that his daughter in law's family (living in China) has just bought their first car was a Honda Accord-by family, i mean the extended family, none of her relations had ever owned a car)

i don't own shares at this time, i needed the money for another investment opportunity, and have not found a good price to buy back hindsight that was silly, some stocks are nearly always a good time to buy, but just look expensive at the time.

if there is a recession, i will be looking hard at this company, the long term benefits of engineering, broad market base-building things that the world needs and wants, and longterm growth around the world make this company a slam dunk at the right price.
