Whats the difference between ipod classic and ipod 5th generation?

Classic is the new version that replaced 5th gen. They basically re-branded the old, traditional style iPod as "Classic" so that now they have 3 clear product lines: Nano, Classic and Touch. The main differences are more capacity and longer battery life. Here are links to the specs:
