What's the downside to DLPs anyway? Besides the rare rainbow effect? The positives I know are the burn-in factor, low maitenence, and for me its better than CRT RP because I can't get my family room completely dark until nighttime.

The downside to DLPs for me is that the technology forces moving parts, and where there are moving parts, there will be failures of expensive components.

LCOS does not have any spinning components AFAIK, so I'd prefer it over DLP if it provides a comparable picture.
