Hey there !

I'm real, very, a ho-bunch, new to astronomical studies. Please have mercy.

Sky and Telescope is my current "bible of the stars" and they said to look for the trio of Arcturus, Spica and the moon. OK found those. Spica kinda faded because of the moon being so close to it. So, while I had our 3" Tasco Reflector out (please don't laugh) I went fishing for Saturn. Found that, too ! First time to ever see the rings other than a picture ... cool !

The Tasco came as a gift (discard) many years ago and now I'm getting interested in all things astronomical ... at age 67. Any recommendations for a decent, inexpensive telescope? With or without computer tracking? Reflector or refractor?

Rich (haywool)
