When Dow-Jones was independent, it was not difficult to get trial subscriptions year after year for $99/yr.

Under new ownership, those have become rare.

But it still is an excellent newspaper with full page stories on subjects in the news like Fukushema. Boots on the ground journalism. All the detail you have time to read on a story of interest. The diametrical opposite of USA Today and its five sentence stories that basically tell you to look for details elsewhere.

Of course the internet could do it better, but stories there are rarely more than three screens--abt 6 column inches. Ie internet does not bother to exploit its potential.
