When greeting guests at the front door, it is most convenient to open door with your left hand and greet guests with your right. But in a left handed house, that is not possible.

That's silly.

The house I grew up in (and still visit my parents in!) has the garage on the left. So by your silly definition, it is left handed. But in that house you still open the front door with your left hand. How the front door opens is a function of the house layout, not where the garage is located.

One car family in a two car garage with one space filled with the usual lawn mower, tools, and trash/recycling. So car gets parked in the far space from the steps.

Again, that depends on where the steps are in your house.

Back to my childhood home. The step (singular, not plural - another difference) into the garage was indeed closer to the car on the right. But that side also had extra space for the laundry area. There was no interference from the step into the parking area. Both sides of the 2 car garage are the same size.

So again, the convenience (or inconvenience) is based on the layout of the house, not on whether the garage is on the left or right side of the front door.
