When I had a tiny desk, I put a book case at the side where the L would be if I had an L shaped desk. Now that I have an L shaped desk, the book case sits on top of the L and hold reference books, desk trays, phone books, etc.

I have a filing cabinet there now. There is, literally, no room.

I do have a small update on my progress, though. I really hate decluttering my desk. So... Instead of doing much with the top (I have improved it by about 45%) I got down on the floor and vacuumed the dust bunnies and then got all the cords for the computer detangled and organized. It's not something that matters in the slightest (well, the dusting does) but I feel I've accomplished something. I guess I had better get back to the 'real' task. I'm mostly down to filing. UGH!
