When I was a kid (40's and 50's) we lived in some places where fresh milk was either unavailable or unsafe to drink. In those days we still believed children must drink milk every day, so we had Klim. That was powdered whole milk, and we just mixed it up with water and I loved it.

I also remember my first experience of the milk dispenser in a grade-school cafeteria in the U.S. The big stainless-steel cabinet with the white plastic spout at the bottom, and the lever with the big steel weight on it. The milk came out ice-cold and frothy, and I loved it as much as I loved Klim.
