When people make their own choices, I think we all try to respect those. When people are unconscious or unable to express their own wishes, family has to make choices. That is the hard part. Consensus can be hard to achieve. No one wants to be criticized for failure to get appropriate treatment.

I absolutely agree.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I was more trying to point out that it isn't always the people that push for treatment, but the doctors and hospitals. Of the people I know it's been the hospitals and doctors that have pushed for treatment.
