When rinsing grease down a drain (always put excess in an old coffee can), use cold water not hot. The grease will solidify and be carried down the pipes. With hot water, the grease disolves, and coates the pipes, eventually building up to a clog.Oh my gosh - I never knew this but it makes so much sense! DH is the one in charge of running the snake through the drains and I can promise he will be thanking you profusely for this!!
