I have stood mostly idly by in this latest round of the Datek Wars, but recently, a post I read has made pulled me off of the sidelines, and should very well clear the bench.

RheS has been one of the single greatest assets to this discussion board since I have been a Fool. RheS has consistently answered newbie questions about much more than Discount Brokers -- he has opened the world of investing to myriad new Fools and patiently guided many through the perils of jargon and procedure which come with a brokerage account.

I believe he coined the term "paying forward," that is, helping new members of this board find their way around their first brokerage accounts as a payback to those who came before. I have seen much paying forward on this board, and a lot coming from RheS himself.

The most Foolish part? He has done all of this helping selflessly and without prejudice. He has helped customers of Datek, Seibert, E*Trade, Vanguard, and Waterhouse alike without dogmatically condemning any broker as the AntiChrist (or Anti-Allah, or Anti-Vishnu, or whatever your personal beliefs may hold).

I don't care how many useless antibroker messages that are posted. But when you insult RheS, you insult all the principles of Foolishness.

And if you don't know what Foolishness is all about, feel free to visit http://www.fool.com/school. And then fill out a profile, so you can become a member of this community.
