Whenever a Vanguard ETF will do the job for me that's where I go. I particularly like VIG either as a core holding or used in conjunction with SDY. There a couple of VG ETFs I don't think are appropriate for anyone tho.

That said I sure wish they would come up with something that competes well with PID.

Note also that I have some UTMA accounts consisting of
VIG and SDY in equal measures plus PID, VWO, and RVT to produce (I think) a .very good value oriented stock portfolio with about 30 per cent foreign exposure and higher than average exposures to Emerging Asia and Latin America. What I don't know yet is just how well they will hold up in a significant down market.
