My soon to be 6 yr old son has about $2000 in his savings account; the bulk of it in a CD maturing in a few days. I feel the need to do somthing else (better) with it, but I'm not sure what. I'm leaning towards a UTMA/UGMA account with stocks-this is his money received for birthdays, a little bit from Mom & Dad, etc. Education savings is being done separately, so I'd like this to be a nest egg for something else when he's much, much older.

Thanks for the ideas!
