Hi folks! I have just started my first real job and I have to choose where my 401K money will be held. I have many many options from Vanguard but I believe I'm supposed to choose an index fund (according to my Foolish reading). The question is, which one? There is the Vanguard 500 Index, the Vanguard Small-Cap Index, and the Vanguard REIT Index. Is the 500 just like the S&P 500? Any advice or explanation would be very helpful. Thanks!

Working hard to become Foolish at a young age...
