While I don't expect to live to 100, I think I have a good chance at 90 from my genetic make up and lifestyle. However, all it takes is some dumba$$ drunk driver.

I think we are hearing of more people living to 100 simply because of demographics, not from any huge scientific breakthrough. I remember a lecture on geriatrics many years ago, taking away preventable deaths, lifespan still clusters around 85. With the appropriate bell shaped curve surrounding it.

IMHO, won't change until we have something to slow/stop the aging of our DNA.
