While not an automotive engineer, decades of engineering experience has reminded me often that if you dont want the Pioneer's curse, you should not be one. I can't count on both hands and feet the number of times those who went for serial number 001, 2, 3 were dissapointed and struggled with customer service or guarantees. Thats at least one reason I never buy the first (and depending on reports, the second) year of a auto model change.

I am VERY interested in the Fusion but I won't buy a new 2013. I am not that brave. I might not even buy a 2014 if the experience is bad enough. If you insist on being the trendy new owner, and take the risk of model year 1, you should at least expect some bumps.

What IS NEW would be F fronting "upgrades" to the Fusion for their new customers... I don't think I've ever heard of that before. Recalls, yes..."upgradges"? Never once.
