While SSA will not go broke as the press reports in 2015 or so it will react a point around 2025 were the money going into the fund is less than that being paid out. Also During the years between 2015 and 2025 someone will need to buy the current debt that is held by the government. This will be the public or other countries. If enough people want to buy T-bills at that time the funds for SSA will be okay, if not then there will be a short fall that will need to be made up from the general fund and will therefore reduce spending on other programs.
