While true, a lot of us would have much rather had McClintock.

Hear, hear! His exit-poll approval ratings during the election were the highest of the top three, including Arnold. McClintock's was +15, Arnold's was +5, and Bustamante's was -22. Meaning, there was a significant amount of people who liked/approved of/could have lived with McClintock but voted otherwise (IMO out of a lamentably misplaced idea of "who has a chance to win" - blech).
