Who are against the worst health care system in the industrialized world? Yes, that is right. The World Health Organization rates the US 37th out of 37. As you say we have the best.

Bogus.

Have you read any of the prior posts on this issue?

Or do you prefer to ignore facts and just jump in with demagoguery?

Nobody here is defending the status quo. Nobody here is claiming that the current system is satisfactory. But claims that the current system is the best or the worst - are invalid for reasons stated in prior posts.

The debate is about what qualifies as appropriate reform, whether government is the problem or the answer - not whether reform is needed.

Do you not care that 1/3rd of this country is without or underinsured care?

I have not seen any data to support your numbers.

Why are you so callous? Are you happy that you don't have a problem? Just wait when you get to your "maximum" benefit or no longer can afford your deductible.

Moi? I, and others like me who oppose the insanity masquerading as "health care reform," are not the callous ones.

I support real reform which will produce less expensive and better health care rather than waiting lists and rationing by bureaucrats.

Politicians who propose bogus "health care reform" which will bankrupt the country and force almost everybody into government health care are the callous ones.

Do you think that the country can't afford it? When we are spending trillions on Iraq and Afghanistan? More than the rest of the world combined?

When we can't provide preventive or needed care for our own?

Whether we should be spending money we don't have on military ventures is a valid question - but not relevant to health care.

We cannot afford to inflate our already bloated government health care bureacracy even more.

We cannot afford to turn our health care decisions completely over to the government.

Why? Because every person has a right to make such decisions for themselves rather than submit to the whims of government bureaucrats.

We also literally cannot afford "health care reform" which fails to introduce some semblance of market forces to control costs and which will only contribute to soaring health care costs and soaring government deficits.

You are beneath the lowest.

Tom (A Doc who knows it.)

You are gravely mistaken.

Please spare us your misguided sanctimony.

Dave (A Doc who knows better.)
