who do you look for management advice? The websites? Turn to a retirement planner? Wealth manager?
I've talked to a multitude of brokers, financial planners, and fee-only advisors over the years and have continued to come to the same conclusion. I am still the best person to manage my money. That's because I enjoy doing the research and managing our money, and it's from what I've done that we have been able to amass quite a nice amount. I would suggest doing the same as I have not really found anyone else who could do much different than what I am already doing, except that I'd have to pay them a fee to do so.
ANd then as near super rich, who do you talk to to tie it all together to make sure uncle sam doesn't get most of the money when I kick! No sense having someone manage my money, make me super rich... and then when I die, my kids don't get much of it...
You talk to an estate planning attorney. That is someone who specializes in estate plans, and gets paid by the hour and not as a percentage of your assets. This is not someone who will give you investment advice, but someone who can tell you about things like trusts, which you will most likely need at your asset level, and make things work the way that you want them to work.
Tax laws and estate laws change frequently, so you will want to revisit your plans every 5 years to make changes and adjustments as needed.
