Who here wants to attack Iran now in order to forestall that day by a few years?

I do not support attacking Iran for any reason. It's not our problem and the fact that our allies (Israel and parts of Europe) are endangered if Iran gets nuclear weapons (missile capable) is not something we should be involved in.

As you suggested, at some point nuclear weapons will be in the hands of people who don't like us and who we don't like. It's a certainty given the ease of building one and the fact that fissile material from former Soviet countries is out there and available. We can't stop it but I doubt any countries leaders would be all that anxious to use it. Yes, religious fanatics wouldn't hesitate but leaders of countries can't afford to be that insane.
