Why don't you walk around the neighborhoods around Clay and Breckinridge Streets in Louisville? Or how about the Portland neighborhood? Do those kids have the cards stacked against them because of color? If so, what about the white ones? These are black and whites in the SAME socio-economic area.

Due to slavery and the following 100 years of institutionalized discrimination, African-Americans are disproportinately stuck in the cycle of poverty and crime that only tends to perpetuate the existing racist attitudes in our society.

But for that matter, you could say there are people who are equally prejudice against all of the poor, no matter what their color is.
