Why?

The Constitution defines our President's term of office and
also defines what are impeachable offenses.

There was a novel written by Fletcher Knebel (sp?) called
Seven Days in May - and was made into a movie in 1964 that was
fairly good. The basic premise is that a general is trying to
take over the government - loosely based on some of the discussions
that surrounded President Truman and General MacArthur if you
believe the "hype" at that time.
I would be hard pressed to see an impeachment happening - since
we have been through many worse situations than we see now.
Although the President does not seem to be quite as vigorous
defending the Constitution as he is in making speeches or
campaigning, there is nothing in the Constitution that justifies
impeaching the President because he is less than stellar.
If we choose to elect a relatively incompetent President - we have
the guy or gal until the next election.
