Let me preface this entry - this is my 1st time on the boards.
That said - I haven't seen an entry for AAR Corp in some time. My research shows a good company that is getting beat up for no apparent reason. The price is getting better and better but i wonder if anyone has any info as to its continued slide that I haven't been able to find?

Due to a perceived mistake in some of their work...

"NEW YORK (AP) - Shares of AAR Corp. fell sharply Tuesday after details emerged that the aircraft service provider improperly maintained landing gear components on a number of Boeing jetliners"

But note that the mistake may not have been that bad...

http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/ticker/article.aspx?Feed=PR&Date=20080414&ID=8479121&Symbol=AIR

"The MOM reconfirms the enamel applied by AAR as a top coat to the inner diameter of landing gear truck beams "...to be equivalent to drawing finish requirements and can be considered acceptable subject to all other standard overhaul processes and applicable CMM [Component Maintenance Manual] instructions being followed at the time of the overhaul."

Thanks for the reply. I've been following that news but the continued slide seemed to start months before the article came out. Maybe there was a buzz in the industry that later came outin the news.
There is a coming cut back in new commercial aircraft orders as the industry deals with its shrinking margins but that would mean the industry is going to be more dependent on repair of the older craft still in service. Reports are ridership is down but not that significantly. I'm still waiting for more news.
AAR seeems like a good company a little beat up on the street.
