will my credit get hit if she files?
she was a co-signer on a car note, now paid off and closed, 5 yrs ago...

I am not a lawyer or finance professional, and I'll be happy to be corrected by one of those if I'm wrong, but I don't see how on Earth her filing bankruptcy could have any effect on your credit. You cosigning a loan linked your finances together only for the purposes of that one loan. If the loan were not paid off, and if she were not paying it, you would have to pay it (sounds like you were the one paying that one off, anyway). You didn't form some greater financial link with her by cosigning a loan.
