With some luck, I will retire in April 2017, and so one of the things we are doing this year is having what we are calling a "practice year." That means we are spending as though we were retired on our retirement activities with the sole purpose of that being to ensure that I have budgeted enough.

I was the beneficiary of some of the practice and think it's a great idea. I failed retirement the first time(not financially) and have consulted some version of half time for ten years. I am planning to slide in during the next few years. However, you(2gifts) have inspired me to loosen the purse strings for the things important to me & I appreciate it !
