*With the Red States you will have to cope with 88% of all obese Americans and their projected health care costs, 92% of all US mosquitoes, nearly 100% of the tornadoes, 90% of the hurricanes, 99% of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100% of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia. While some of that may be true, I found the Clemson and University of Georgia comment a little strange.Since I live here in bulldog country, graduated from UGA and most of my family did as well, I think I'm a little biased. But great things come out of the south without my bias. Universities all over the south contribute a great deal. This issue of dependent red states vs more tax supporting blue states is actually true, but no one should attack higher education unless it really is a outlier group like Bob Jones University.See this post by LorenCobb about predictions on superstorm Sandy: http://boards.fool.com/sandy-ecmrwf-the-fujiwhara-effect-303...Link #2 is an article written by two geography professors at the University of Georgia: Marshall Shepherd, the pres-elect of AMS, and John Knox, who co-wrote the article on advances in numerical weather prediction. They have had a lot of worldwide press from this article, which was sent out before Sandy hit.(another example: do you use Restasis for your dry eyes? or have you seen the commercial? that was developed by researchers at the University of Georgia.)
