Has anyone else actually read through the new 451 page plan up for vote by the Senate?

It includes the original bill voted on by the House, with very few changes.

And then it includes more than 300 pages on things that have absolutely nothing to do with economic recovery. One of the funniest things included is a provision relating to wooden arrows used by children - toys? in an economic rescue plan? There are more than 100 pages relating to funding and tax credits on energy and alternative fuels. There are provisions relating to health insurance coverages for mental health and substance abuse. There is an extension of the AMT relief. There is an extension of the exclusion of a sale of principal residence. There are provisions to provide extended funding and roads for rural schools, which seems to have a lot to do with funding to enhance forest ecosystems, improve water quality, improve soil, and reestablishing native species. There are funding provisions for states and counties holding federal land. There is a complete section on providing relief to those affected by Hurricane Ike. And another section revising how the government responds to federally declared disasters.

There are many more pages of bull that I did not even try to read. This is outrageous. And the media isn’t even talking about it – other than to say that a few “sweeteners” were added to the bill in order to obtain a majority vote.

Does this outrage anyone else? How can they even begin to read and understand what they are voting on in less than 24 hours?! And are our governmental representatives so dense that they would vote for an economic recovery plan that might, or might not, be in the best interests of this country simply because a whole lot of other goodies are added in that will increase our deficit even more? I think this is ridiculous.

Does this not outrage anyone else? This just can not be how our government actually works! And, if it is, it is absolutely no wonder that our country is in such a mess.
