Well, the TV arrived ages ago, but I finally got it up on the wall on Friday, and spent pretty much the entire weekend watching Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel in HD with my mouth open.

I got the Sony Bravia 46" KDL-46V2500 - it's basically the cheaper version of the top of the range Sony, but without the silly glass surround. It looks very nice up on the wall, and has an astonishing picture quality. I still need to calibrate it I think - can someone point me to a guide or something? Even out of the box though it looks awesome.

There is some slight clouding on black screens, but I've never noticed it during an actual program. The room I have it in is pretty bright, but I've been able to turn down the backlighting some and still have an incredible picture.

I also got a soundbar from Polk Audio - but apparently it's too big and too ugly to go on my wall, so it's going back. I'm going to get the Harman Kardon HKTS 14 system in a box instead - that actually has a subwoofer bigger than the one I'd got to accompany the Polk soundbar and it comes pre-approved by the Boss, so I'm happy :)

I ended up getting the Onkyo TX-SR674/S for my receiver, but I haven't been able to really try it yet as I don't have speakers to hook it up to!

I think I'll be pretty happy with the system once it's all set up. I've managed to find a way to string the wires above the trim so they're generally invisible - the boss is happy, and I've got the whole lot for about 3.5k.
