Yesterday, I had a day off of work (since I worked a day last weekend). I took advantage of the peace and quiet of no roommates around to:
1) Set up the bookshelves downstairs and start bringing my books out of boxes. (Step 2 will be determining which books get listed on half .com; Step 3, profit! :-)
2) Go through 2 boxes of unfiled papers and sort them. I didn't file all of them yet, but I did weed out the recycling out of it.
It really amazes me how several of the Motley Fool boards I read -- this one, LBYM, Budgeting, and the one on credit cards -- dovetail nicely into a single topic, taking more control of my life. While sorting and filing papers, I found about $300 worth of receipts from my move last year. Since I moved 240 miles to take a new job, that $300 is tax-deductible now that I have the receipts to back it up. $100 in free money, yay!
How are you doing on your organization projects?
