WOW. Great, informative piece, thanks for posting it here. There are SO many interesting facets to this it's hard to even begin, but yeah, China really did an ugly number on the solar industry for sure. It really was a dirty deal since it artificially distorted and skewed the market to such a major extent.

And personally, for reasons like this and many cultural differences, I wouldn't feel comfortable directly investing in Chinese companies. Geez. This interview gives a lot of food for thought about China regarding business climate/accounting/centralized "markets" with tons of government intervention, on and on and on. Whew. (I think a lot of investors really underestimate just how different the culture/marketplace is there.)
