Wow. My only suggestions would be marriage counseling, and financial counseling, probably concurrently.

If wife won't go, or admit she has a problem, time for husband to take a long look at their relationship and decide if he would be better off with her, or without her. She may accrue debts he would also be responsible for in a joint relationship or account.

If she's willing to throw away money this way, she might also be willing to throw away her marriage too.

Addiction of any sort doesn't dissapear on its own, and many of those with it must first hit absolute *ROCK* bottom before realizing what they've done.
