Wall Street Journal has section this morning on new developments in agriculture. An article on drought tolerant corn is informative--

All three seed producers, Monsanto, Dupont and Syngenta, have drought tolerant corn in test fields this year. They are pleased with results--15% better yield in a dry year; 5-10% claimed in a normal year.

Monsanto plans to have its drought tolerant corn on the market in 2013

Syngenta after 2015

Dupont next decade.

Looks like Monsanto is the leader with this technology.
