Ok. We've decided to go with T-Mobile and we each want the Samsung E715 phones. We'll be going with the 800 minute family plan for my husband and me.
Our local 3rd party dealer (there are no direct dealers in our area) want $270/phone. We found them online at Amazon for $99/phone after rebate. This means that we have to shell out $650 initially and then wait 12-14 weeks for our rebate. It's also somewhat of a hassle to port our number through Amazon, we kind of have to jump through hoops, but if it's going to save us $500 bucks, it will be worth it.
I tried to negotiate the local dealer down, we'd be willing to pay an extra $50/phone to not have to wait for the rebate and deal with the hassle of Amazon, but they will only come down to $240, which just isn't enough.
We know Amazon, they're reputable, but we've found other places who take care of everything and we could get both phones for about $300 with only a $400 initial outlay. The only problem is we have no idea how reputable these places are.
Have any of you ever bought cell service online? Do you have recommendations of reputable places? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Caat
