Yeah, just WHAT would you tell someone starting college? Avoid the "squishy" majors, go for engineering or sciences; keep your "parachute" packed at all times; always have a reserve 'chute available too? Well, these are all juniors and one senior, so they have the majors picked - no squishies, since the scholarships are from the Technology Council. But this is what I love from the email they sent out today:"The purpose for the day is give them some insights as to what to expect in the business world and to help them clarify career opportunities that would be available to them in a company like [insert behemoth company name here]."All I could think was, "Well, kids, the corporate world will chew you up and spit you out. Be ready for anything. Go with smaller companies. Max out that 401k. Get that Roth IRA opened. Check out these websites: http://www.fool.com and http://www.retireearlyhomepage.com.
