Yeah there isn't much you can do if you still need something from these people. What you described is teh way 80% of the companies treat their candidates now. It sucks and it ticks me off. WHen I don't need anything further from a place of employment, I usually send a letter to teh president of the company - naming names and giving examples of unprofessional behavior. I don't give my name usually. I know the letter usually finds it's way to the trash barrel but once and a while it falls on receptive ears. If that happens, procedures usually change. But better than that - the people who ticked you off get reamed big time. I once heard back that a sales person who interviewed me (all the while treating me like a third class citizen), had his three biggest accounts taken away from him after his boss received my letter. A good person would be happy that this salesperson would never make this same mistake again. A vindictive person like myself is happy that a moron got what he deserves.
