Years ago, before I retired in 2002, my company car for a while was a 6 cyl Jeep Cherokee 4x4. We had to wander the night to remote cell site locations, the vans we had, even the 3/4T never had 4WD, we looked at conversions, pretty pricey, so it didn't happen. So we'd get to a site, transfer the parts needed to the Jeep, run it up the hill, but take the Van as far as we could.. It was a kick, lots of power, was tempting me for one of my own, for play, since I can't tow with it.. Luckily, gas wan't an issue with the corporate card, but, yes, that 6 is strong...

Replacement? Land Rover.. Mercedes also has an off roader.. Hummer? Not a serious off road rig.. Unless you find an old one, but none of the comforts you are looking for...
