Yes, I received the notice for the law suit too. I have not sent it back yet - want to read to completely before I sign something - That is one of the lessons I have learnt dealing with AmEx!

At first reading it appeared that they were making a settlement offer. The thing that made me doubtful was the inclusion of the Life Insurance account and the statement that I would get a Death Benefit as part of the settlement! What is it that they are offering? Isn't a Death Benefit the *primary* purpose one takes Life Insurance? Also the amount stated was far less than the Death Benefit of the policy!!

Something does not fit here.

Maybe I should post this as a separate topic so others join in the conversation.
