Yesterday, however, I seemed to be attaining my goal, albeit in a strange fashion: bogeys for the first 14 holes. Bogeying 18 straight holes would certainly set a record for me, but, alas, I ended the round par-bogey-par-bogey. Still, pretty happy.

Congrats! When I was working as an assistant instructor the pro I worked for told me, "When someone shoots better than their handicap they're ready for the next challenge...mini-golf!" lol

I've been as high as 20-something and as low as better than scratch and the one thing I always kept in my mind was that if I was netting under par I was having a great day. The biggest thing I saw when trying to teach people was that they always wanted to play better than they should expect to play. Everyone always wants to do better but in golf it seems that people often have unrealistic expectations. Last year I played to a 10 and anytime I had a round under 80 I was extremely happy about it and bragged to anyone who would listen. I can still recount evry putt I made over 20 feet from last season. :-)
