...yet the Republicans ignored it and picked the actor anyway.

How so? If you will recall, Arnold won the Governorship when the voters kicked out Grey Davis through a recall. There were no primaries, there was no vetting of candidates. Any old Tom, Dick, and Cruz Bustamante could throw their hat in the ring with any party identification they chose. Sure he put up a good facade, even acted Republican for about six months, but after he got the electoral smack down from the financial arm of the Democratic party he went full fledged left wing. The proof is in the pudding: unrestrained spending, 11 billion in tax hikes, 16 billion in deficits, worst credit rating in the nation, public employee union giveaways, global warming final solutions act... If it quacks like a duck...

We should have know better; married a Kennedy, philandered like a Kennedy, should have know he would tax and spend like a Kennedy.
