I just did the tax estimator tool on and found out that we most likely owe $1600 this year. I don't understand why--last year, we only owed about $100, and our combined income only increased by $1000 this year. We got married, so the main difference is that we are filing jointly. Also, I changed my withholding status from 0 to 1; would that be enough to account for such a huge discrepancy?
