You are incorrect. The brain in the Prius records the last 250 events aside from the black box which records the data just before an airbag deployment.
In this case the driver failed to know before he concocted his "runaway Prius" story that the car would record that he had alternately apply the brake and the gas pedal at least 250 times, most likely more, since the vehicle can only record the last 250 events.
Additionally, he failed to realize that all Prius have a brake override system which would automatically shut off the throttle had he really attempted to stop the car.
Curious that everything worked perfectly for the investigators when they drove this gentlemen's car.
Notice that the press stopped its witch hunt after this obviously fraudulent attempt to gain national attention. And rightly so.
