You are not alone in your situation. I know for a fact that some companies will allow you a very small initial investment (as low as $50) if you add to it monthly with a bank draft. However, in order to do that you would have to go through an advisor I think. Check it out, and see if that type of program is available with whatever investment vehicle you want.
